A bronze Y-type strainer is a Y-shaped valve fitting with a perforated screen that removes debris from water, steam, and oil lines, protecting downstream equipment like pumps and meters from particle damage. Bronze construction offers excellent corrosion resistance for freshwater and mild chemical service.

Bronze Y-strainers are available in PN16 (16 bar) ratings for general water service and Class 125/200 for higher temperature steam applications. The pressure-temperature relationship follows ASME B16.24 standards, with ratings decreasing at elevated temperatures.

Install with flow arrow in correct direction, blowdown port pointing downward for horizontal lines. For vertical lines, ensure blowdown port faces downstream. The screen can be inspected by removing the strainer cap without disturbing pipe connections.
