Pilot-Operated Regulator with Slam Shut — RFQ Checklist
Updated 2026-10-30 · Supreme Valves India Engineering
What the assembly is
A pilot-operated pressure regulator controls downstream pressure. A built-in slam shut-off trips closed on overpressure (OPSO) and optionally underpressure (UPSO). Buyers often RFQ both as one spare package.
Without size, inlet/outlet pressures, fluid and trip sets, any price is budgetary only.
Minimum data for a firm offer
Nominal size and end connection (RF Class 150/300, PN, screwed).
Fluid (NG, LPG, air, other), SG, temperature.
Inlet pressure range and required regulated outlet set.
Slam-shut trip set (OPSO / UPSO) and maximum allowable downstream pressure.
Capacity (Nm3/h or SCFH) and any remote indication / limit switch.
Design code outline (EN 334 / EN 14382 or project standard) and document set (3.1 MTC, ITP).
How Supreme Valves quotes
We issue a budgetary assumed construction when the RFQ states type and quantity only, then convert to a firm engineered offer after clarifications. Arrangement drawings are released on order confirmation.
FAQ
Is slam shut the same as a PSV?
No. Slam shut stops flow into the downstream system. A PSV relieves overpressure to a safe location.
Can regulator and slam shut be separate valves?
Yes — some packages use a separate SSV. State whether you need integral / built-in or separate devices.
What HS code is used?
Typically 8481.80 for valves and similar appliances — confirm on the commercial invoice.
