Features & Benefits

Superior Forged Grain Structure

Forged body has a continuous grain flow aligned with the valve shape, providing significantly higher strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance than equivalent cast valves -- enabling pressure ratings up to Class 4500 (10,000 psi) in a compact envelope.

Compact Face-to-Face

API 602 compact forged valve pattern is 40--60% shorter than equivalent cast API 600 valves, reducing weight, space, and installation cost in high-pressure instrument and process tubing systems.

Integral Body Ends

Threaded, socket weld, or butt weld ends are integral to the forged body -- no separate weld necks, flanges, or adapters -- eliminating leak paths and reducing weight compared to cast valves with welded end pieces.

Backseat Design

Stem backseat allows packing replacement while the valve is under pressure, improving maintenance safety and reducing downtime during scheduled overhauls in high-pressure systems.

OS&Y or NRS Options

Outside screw and yoke (OS&Y) rising stem provides visual position indication and keeps threads outside the fluid; non-rising stem (NRS) reduces overall height for tight installations.

High-Pressure Instrument Isolation

Class 800 to Class 4500 pressure ratings and compact dimensions make forged steel gate valves the standard choice for high-pressure instrument isolation, gauge root valves, and sampling systems in oil & gas and petrochemical plants.
