What a PRV does
A PRV automatically reduces higher upstream pressure to a lower, controlled downstream set pressure. Self-actuating designs use spring and diaphragm (or pilot) feedback — no external power required for the SV-PR mechanical series. Bellows and pneumatic series are used when higher flow or tighter control is required.
Do not confuse PRV with a safety relief valve (PSV). A PRV regulates continuous process pressure. A PSV opens only to relieve overpressure for protection.
