What is Cv value for a control valve?
Cv (flow coefficient) is the number of US gallons per minute of water that flows through the valve at a pressure drop of 1 psi. It determines the correct valve size for a given flow requirement. We size control valves to ISA/IEC 60534 standard.
What actuator types are used with control valves?
Pneumatic diaphragm actuators are most common. Electric actuators with positioners are used where instrument air is unavailable. Smart positioners with HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, or PROFIBUS communication are available.
