Application
UL/FM Y-strainers protect fire pumps, deluge valves, and sprinkler headers from debris. Flanged or grooved PN16-class constructions are common on hydrant and sprinkler BOQs; state mesh / perforation and blowdown preference.
Place strainers upstream of deluge and alarm valves where the project standard requires listed filtration. Blowdown valve and screen material should follow the firewater quality notes on the inquiry.
