Swing Check Valve NRV
The swing check valve NRV is the full-bore hinged-disc non-return valve used across steam, oil, gas and water systems. Supreme Valves supplies swing checks to BS 1868 / API 6D practice in ASTM A216 WCB as the volume grade, with SS304 and SS316 bodies for corrosive or hygienic lines.
How to select a swing check NRV
Specify body material first (WCB for carbon-steel systems; CF8 / CF8M for stainless), then pressure class, end connection and whether slam control (lever and weight, dashpot) is required. For short face-to-face between flanges on pump discharge, compare with a dual-plate wafer check.

Swing check NRV materials and classes
Carbon steel WCB swing checks cover the majority of steam, oil and water NRV tags. SS304 (CF8) and SS316 (CF8M) bodies are used for corrosive or clean stainless piping systems. Pressure Class 150, 300 and 600 flanged RF covers most plant classes; butt-weld ends are available for welded piping.
Always confirm installation orientation. Many swing checks are designed for horizontal flow; vertical upward flow needs a suitable disc and hinge design. State orientation, media and slam risk on every RFQ so accessories are correctly offered.
Documentation and testing
Every swing check NRV can ship with EN 10204 3.1 material certificates for the body and cover, API 598 hydrostatic shell and seat reports, and a dimensional drawing after order. PMI and third-party inspection are available when the purchase order requires them. For boiler steam under Indian Boiler Regulations, request IBR documentation on the same RFQ as the matching gate and globe valves.

Which material for steam NRV?
ASTM A216 WCB is standard for most plant steam and condensate lines. Confirm temperature against ASME B16.34 for WCB. Use stainless where the fluid chemistry requires it.
Do you supply lever and weight swing checks?
Yes. Outside lever and weight (and dashpot options) are quoted for systems with reverse-flow slam risk.
