WCB vs WCC vs LCB: Valve Material Differences
Choosing between different grades of cast carbon steel is essential for pipeline integrity. If you are looking for extensive information on the most common grade, check out our central guide on WCB valves.
WCB (Wrought Carbon Grade B) is used for standard temperature applications. WCB valves operate from -29°C to 425°C.
WCC (Wrought Carbon Grade C) offers slightly higher tensile strength than WCB, making it suitable for higher pressure conditions.
LCB (Low Carbon Grade B, ASTM A352) is designed specifically for low-temperature service down to -46°C, offering better impact toughness at cold temperatures compared to standard WCB valves.
