Materials of Construction
| Component | Material |
| Body | WCB carbon steel with welded half-pipe steam jacket surrounding body and end flanges for uniform heat distribution |
| Jacket | SS304 or carbon steel half-pipe welded to body, hydrotested at 1.5x jacket design pressure |
| Ball | SS316 full-bore solid ball, mirror polished, vent hole drilled to prevent cavity pressure trapping |
| Seats | PTFE standard seats; PEEK high-temperature seats for hot oil and molten sulphur above 200°C |
| Stem | SS316 anti-blow-out stem with double O-ring seals and PTFE/graphite V-ring packing set |
| Packing | PTFE/graphite V-ring packing with Belleville spring live-loading for constant compression |
| Gaskets | Spiral-wound SS316 + graphite for process flange joints; same for jacket flange connections |

| Design Standard | ASME B16.34 / API 608 / ISO 17292 |
Notes
- Jacket is hydrotested at 1.5x jacket design pressure before welding to body; do not weld additional fittings to jacket in field.
- Steam supply pressure must not exceed jacket rating (PN16 / Class 150); overpressure will deform half-pipe and cause leaks.
- Drain connection must be at lowest point of jacket to ensure complete condensate removal; pitch pipe 1:100 towards drain.
- For molten sulphur service, specify steam jacket with condensate drain and steam trap to maintain 135-145°C valve temperature.
- Extended bonnet with packing cooling fins is recommended for service above 250°C to protect stem packing and actuator.
