Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between wafer and lug butterfly valves?
Wafer valves are held between two flanges by flange bolts and require full face flanges to seal properly. Lug valves have threaded inserts (lugs) on the body that allow installation between flanges with bolts on both sides, or can be used as end valves with a separate back flange. Lug valves offer more installation flexibility.
What seat materials are available?
Common seat materials include EPDM (ideal for water, -20°C to +120°C), NBR/Buna-N (petroleum oils, -20°C to +90°C), Viton/FKM (chemicals, -10°C to +200°C), and PTFE (corrosive media, -40°C to +180°C). Silicon seats are available for food applications.
Are these valves fire-safe certified?
Yes, we offer fire-safe certified butterfly valves tested to API 607 and ISO 10497 standards. These feature graphite or ceramic seats that maintain sealing integrity during and after fire exposure, making them suitable for safety-critical applications in oil and gas, petrochemical, and process industries.
What actuator options are available?
We offer pneumatic (double acting and spring return), electric, and hydraulic actuators from major brands. All actuators feature ISO 5211 mounting flanges for easy interchangeability. We also offer ATEX compliant actuators for hazardous area installations.
