Breather Valve / Pressure Vacuum Relief Vent -- API 2000

Technical Datasheet -- Pressure Vacuum Relief Vents for Atmospheric Storage Tanks

Document No.SV-DATA-BVV-001
RevisionA
DateMay 2026
ManufacturerSupreme Valves India, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India

Pressure vacuum relief vents (breather valves) for atmospheric and low-pressure storage tanks. Weight-loaded, spring-loaded, or pilot-operated pallet opens at set pressure to vent excess pressure or admit air on vacuum, preventing tank rupture and implosion. Aluminium, carbon steel, SS316, or ductile iron body. PTFE/RPTFE or graphite seat facing. Flow capacity rated per API 2000 / EN ISO 28300. ATEX / IECEx certified for explosive atmospheres. In-situ set pressure verification without removal.

End ConnectionsFlanged RF per EN 1092-1 PN10/PN16 / ASME B16.5 Class 150, Threaded NPT / BSP (2" to 4"), Tri-clamp (sanitary, on request)
Body / Housing MaterialAluminium alloy (lightweight, standard for atmospheric tanks) / Carbon Steel ASTM A216 WCB epoxy-coated / SS316 ASTM A351 CF8M / Ductile Iron EN-GJS-500-7 epoxy-coated
Pallet / Seat MaterialSS316 with PTFE or RPTFE seat facing / Aluminium with PTFE facing (lightweight)
Guide MaterialSS316 guide rods and bushings / PTFE-lined guides (low friction)
Gasket MaterialPTFE / RPTFE / Graphite with SS316 spiral wound (high temp)
Set Pressure TypeWeight-loaded (deadweight pallet, simplest, most reliable) / Spring-loaded (compact, higher settings, less sensitive to vibration) / Pilot-operated (tightest shutoff, highest capacity, remote sensing)
Flow CapacityRated per API 2000 / EN ISO 28300 at 100% overpressure (or 10% overpressure for pilot-operated)
LeakageNear-zero leakage below set pressure (weight-loaded: bubble-tight; spring-loaded: < 1% of rated capacity at 90% set pressure; pilot-operated: < 0.5%)
Temperature Range-40 deg C to +60 deg C (aluminium body) -- up to +150 deg C (CS/SS316 body with PTFE seat) -- up to +300 deg C (CS/SS316 body with graphite seat, on request)
