Materials of Construction
| Component | Material |
| Body | WCB carbon steel casting with 3-5 mm thick PFA liner locked and keyed into body bore to prevent vacuum collapse |
| Liner | PFA (perfluoroalkoxy) high-purity liner, moulded and machined to close tolerance, locked into body with anti-rotation keys |
| Ball | SS316 solid core ball with full PFA encapsulation; PFA thickness 2-3 mm on wetted surfaces |
| Seat | PFA integral seat moulded into liner body, lapped to ball tolerance for bubble-tight shutoff |
| Stem | SS316 stem with PFA thrust washer and anti-extrusion collar to prevent liner displacement |
| Packing | PTFE V-ring packing with Belleville spring live-loading for constant compression without overtightening |
| Gaskets | PFA envelope gaskets with SS316 insert for flange joints; compatible with PFA liner for continuous chemical barrier |

Notes
- PFA liner thickness is 3-5 mm; do not attempt hot tapping or welding on valve body as this will destroy liner integrity.
- Maximum temperature is +180°C for PFA; exceeding this limit causes liner softening, distortion, and loss of shutoff.
- Vacuum service requires locked liner design with anti-rotation keys; standard push-in liners may collapse under full vacuum.
- For chlorine gas service, specify PFA-lined ball and seats with no metallic exposure to prevent chlorine-induced pitting.
- PFA envelope gaskets must be used at flanges; do not substitute with graphite or PTFE-only gaskets which may wick chemicals to metal flanges.
