| Standard | Description |
| Design Standard | API 599 / ASME B16.34 |
Notes
- PTFE cold-flow limits maximum pressure to PN16 / Class 150 at ambient; derate 25% at 150°C and 40% at 180°C.
- PFA liner extends temperature to 200°C with better mechanical properties; specify PFA for vacuum or cyclic temperature service.
- Vented bonnet is mandatory for toxic or noxious fluids to prevent pressurised cavity rupture; route vent to safe disposal.
- Do not use with fluorinated solvents, molten alkali metals, or elemental fluorine -- these attack PTFE.
- Liner thickness must be verified by eddy-current test after moulding; minimum 3 mm at thinnest point required.
