Frequently Asked Questions
What is a push-pull valve?
A push-pull valve is manually operated by pushing or pulling a button or knob. Pushing the button shifts the valve to one position, pulling it shifts to the other position. It provides intuitive mechanical control without electricity.
What is the difference between latching and spring return push-pull?
Latching (bi-stable) push-pull valves stay in the position you select until you manually shift them again. Spring return versions automatically return to the home position when you release the button, providing fail-safe mechanical return.
Can these be used as emergency stop valves?
Spring return push-pull valves are commonly used in safety circuits. The spring return ensures the valve goes to a safe state when the operator releases it. However, for certified emergency stop applications, dedicated safety valves meeting ISO 13849 should be used.
