A pilot operated diaphragm solenoid valve NC (Normally Closed) uses line pressure to assist the solenoid in opening a large orifice. When de-energized, a spring returns the diaphragm to the closed position, blocking flow. This design allows high flow rates with relatively small solenoid power consumption.
What is the difference between NC and NO solenoid valves?
