Frequently Asked Questions
Can the HCP Series handle superheated steam?
The standard HCP Series with PTFE seals is rated for saturated steam up to 200°C. For superheated steam above 200°C, we offer a special high-temperature version with PEEK piston seals and Class H coils rated to 250°C.
What is the difference between diaphragm and piston steam valves?
Diaphragm valves use a flexible elastomer or PTFE diaphragm to seal. Piston valves use a rigid piston with PTFE rings. Piston construction is preferred for high-pressure steam because it resists deformation and provides better longevity under thermal cycling.
Is a steam trap required downstream?
Yes, a steam trap should be installed downstream of any steam solenoid valve to remove condensate that forms when the valve is closed. Without a trap, water hammer can damage the valve and piping when the valve reopens.
Do you provide IBR certification for Indian boiler regulations?
Yes, we provide IBR (Indian Boiler Regulations) certification for all steam valve products. For export to Saudi Arabia, we also provide SABER/SASO compliance and third-party inspection certificates.
