Frequently Asked Questions

What is DCC valve mounting and when is it used?

DCC sub-base mounting uses a common base plate (sub-base) with shared supply and exhaust galleries, allowing multiple valves to be mounted together in a compact manifold arrangement. This is standard for building high-density pneumatic control panels where multiple valves must be placed close together - common in automated machinery, packaging lines, and process control systems. Each valve slides onto the sub-base and is secured with two bolts, with common air supply running underneath all valves.

What are the advantages of manifold-mounted directional valves?

Manifold mounting offers: significant space savings (valves mounted side-by-side with minimal clearance); simplified piping (single supply/exhaust lines feed the entire manifold); easier maintenance (individual valves can be removed without disturbing piping); flexible configuration (add or rearrange valves easily); and reduced leak points. The main disadvantage is slightly higher per-valve cost compared to individual pipe-mounted valves.

What is the difference between DCC and standard solenoid directional valves?

DCC valves are specifically designed for sub-base/manifold mounting with a standardized interface - the valve body has no integrated pipe ports. Standard solenoid valves have built-in threaded ports (G1/4, G1/2) for direct pipe connection. DCC valves are preferred for equipment machine building where compact control panels are required; standard valves are preferred for simpler installations with fewer valves or where individual valve replacement is frequent.
