Wafer check vs swing check vs non-slam
A wafer check is short and light, bolted between flanges — good for compact skids and fire-water headers. A swing check has a longer face-to-face and a hinged disc. A non-slam / nozzle check closes under spring force before flow reverses and is preferred on pump discharge where water hammer is a risk.
