Notes
- Thermodynamic traps cycle on flash steam; slight steam loss per cycle is normal. For absolute zero-loss requirement, specify inverted bucket or float traps.
- Insulation cap is mandatory for outdoor or windy installation to prevent excessive cycling and steam wastage.
- Inline strainer must be installed upstream of trap and cleaned monthly; debris on seat causes live steam leakage.
- For superheated steam above 350°C, specify SS316 body and disc with Inconel spring to prevent tempering loss.
- Trap capacity charts are based on cold condensate; flash steam in hot condensate reduces effective capacity by 10-15%.
