Double Beat Valve Manufacturer India — SS304 and CI, Flanged, Sugar and Food Industry

Fabricated SS304 and cast iron double beat (double seat) valves, DN50–DN400, EPDM seat, PN10/PN16 flanged, for sugar mills, juice processing, and food-grade applications.

Supreme Valves India manufactures double beat (double seat) valves for sugar mills, juice processing, syrup handling, and general food-grade process applications. Available in SS304 fabricated or cast iron construction, with EPDM or silicone seats, flanged PN10/PN16 ends from DN50 to DN400.

What is a Double Beat Valve?

A double beat valve — also called a double seat valve or poppet valve — has two seating surfaces. The disc (also called the plug) closes against both seats simultaneously. This balanced design significantly reduces the differential pressure force across the disc, requiring much less operating torque than a single-seat globe valve of equivalent size.

Unlike a gate valve (full bore, quarter-turn-equivalent for wedge), a double beat valve throttles and regulates flow, making it suitable for heating stations, evaporator flow control, and juice blending. See our detailed overview: Double Beat Valve Guide for Sugar Industry India.

How to Order

To specify a double beat valve correctly, provide:

  1. Nominal bore (DN or inch size)
  2. Body material (SS304, SS316, CI)
  3. Seat material (EPDM, silicone, rubber)
  4. End connection standard and pressure rating (PN10, PN16, ANSI 150#)
  5. Actuation (handwheel, gear, pneumatic — fail open/close)
  6. Operating fluid (juice, water, steam, syrup, molasses)
  7. Operating temperature and pressure
  8. Quantity and delivery location (CIF or ex-factory)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a double beat valve and a globe valve?

Both are single-pass, multi-turn regulation valves. A globe valve has one seating surface and experiences full differential pressure on the disc — requiring high operating force at large sizes. A double beat valve has two seating surfaces; pressure acts on both sides of the disc, partially balancing the load, requiring less torque to operate at the same differential pressure.

What seat material is used for sugar juice service?

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is the standard seat choice for juice service up to 120°C. EPDM has good heat resistance, is FDA/food-grade compliant, and resists the organic acids present in raw and sulphited juice.

Can double beat valves be automated with pneumatic actuators?

Yes — double beat valves are commonly automated with single-acting (spring return) or double-acting pneumatic actuators for automatic control in juice heating and evaporation stations. Fail-open configuration is standard for safety in juice service.

Need Double Beat Valves for a Sugar Mill or Food Plant?

Specify your DN size, body material, seat type, and actuation. We manufacture SS304 fabricated double beat valves to order with 4–6 weeks lead time. IBR certification available for steam service.
