What is an SPM System?

A Single Point Mooring system is a floating buoy infrastructure that allows crude oil tankers to offload crude oil while moored offshore, transferring oil via submarine and surface pipeline to an onshore tank farm. SPM systems require large bore isolation valves on the PLEM (subsea manifold), riser balancing valves, shore receiving station isolation valves, and emergency shutdown (ESD) valves.

Materials and Certification for Sour Crude

Fire Safe Qualification

All pipeline isolation valves on hydrocarbon service must carry API 607 fire-safe certification. After fire exposure, the valve must maintain shutoff with metal-to-metal secondary seat.
