What is a steam pressure reducing valve?
A steam PRV reduces high boiler or header pressure to a stable lower pressure for process equipment, HVAC coils, autoclaves and distribution mains. Unlike a PSV, it works continuously during normal operation. A correct steam station usually includes strainer, isolation valves, pressure gauges and a safety valve on the low-pressure side.
