Forged Brass Ball Valve Screwed End PN16
1/4" to 2" BSP | Forged Brass CW617N | PTFE Seats
Product Overview
The Supreme Valves forged brass ball valve with screwed BSP ends is a general-purpose quarter-turn valve designed for on-off service in water, compressed air, oil, and gas applications. The forged brass CW617N construction provides excellent strength and corrosion resistance, while the chrome-plated brass ball and PTFE seats ensure reliable bubble-tight sealing.
Available in sizes from 1/4 inch to 2 inch with BSP threaded connections, the full-port design minimizes pressure drop when fully open. The lever handle provides quick quarter-turn operation, and the blowout-proof stem design ensures safety under pressure. PN16 rating provides 232 PSI maximum working pressure suitable for most building water and air systems.
These valves are widely used in Indian water distribution, HVAC systems, compressed air networks, and general industrial applications throughout the Middle East. The economical value point makes them ideal for high-volume projects requiring reliable performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between PN16 and Class 150 pressure ratings?
PN16 is a European/ISO pressure rating where 16 refers to 16 bar (232 PSI) maximum working pressure at ambient temperature. Class 150 (American ASME standard) is rated at 270 PSI at ambient temperature for brass/bronze valves. Both ratings are generally comparable for standard water and air service. The PN system is more common in India, Middle East, and Asia; Class 150 is preferred in North America.
Why use forged brass for ball valves?
Forged brass provides superior mechanical properties compared to cast brass. The forging process refines the grain structure and eliminates internal voids and porosity common in castings, resulting in higher strength, better pressure containment, and improved reliability. CW617N is the standard forged brass alloy for valve bodies.
What is BSP threaded connection?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) threads have a 55-degree included angle and come in parallel (BSP-P) or tapered (BSP-T) forms. BSP-P seals by compression of a washer or O-ring; BSP-T and NPT seal by thread interference and sealant compound. BSP is the standard in India, Middle East, UK, and most of Asia. BSP and NPT are NOT interchangeable.
Can brass ball valves be used for gas service?
Yes, brass ball valves are widely used for natural gas, LPG, and other fuel gases. The brass body provides excellent resistance to gas corrosion. For gas applications, ensure the valve is certified for gas service and use appropriate thread sealants. For high-pressure gas above 0.5 bar, consider PN25/PN40 rated valves or stainless steel construction.
Export to India & Middle East
