Who manufactures PTFE lined ball valves in India?
Supreme Valves India (Ahmedabad) supplies PTFE, PFA and FEP lined ball valves, 1/2" to 8", with WCB, ductile iron or stainless steel bodies, fluoropolymer encapsulated balls, ASME Class 150 / PN16 flanged ends and lever, gear or actuator operation. The fluid touches only fluoropolymer, so they suit hydrochloric and sulphuric acid, chlorine, caustic and solvents. Every lining is spark tested.

PTFE Lined Ball Valve Manufacturer in India
Fully lined ball valves for corrosive chemical service, with spark-tested PTFE, PFA or FEP linings and encapsulated balls.
What is a PTFE lined ball valve?
A PTFE lined ball valve has a metal body (WCB cast steel, ductile iron or stainless steel) with a thick fluoropolymer lining moulded onto every wetted surface, and a ball encapsulated in the same fluoropolymer over a metal core. The fluid touches only PTFE, PFA or FEP, so the valve resists acids, alkalis and solvents that would attack stainless steel or even exotic alloys, at a fraction of their cost.
Lined valves are used where corrosion, not pressure, is the main problem: hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid, chlorine and chlorinated solvents, caustic soda, bleach and many mixed chemical streams.
PTFE vs PFA vs FEP lining
Temperature limits fall with pressure and vacuum; confirm the combination of pressure, temperature and vacuum on the datasheet. For chemical resistance, see our PTFE lined valve chemical compatibility chart.
Specification range
When not to use a lined valve
- Abrasive slurries or crystallising media that can cut the lining: consider a metal-seated or ceramic valve.
- Temperatures above the lining limit, or high vacuum at high temperature with FEP.
- Molten alkali metals, elemental fluorine and some fluorinated compounds, which attack fluoropolymers.
- High-pressure service above Class 150: use a solid alloy valve (Alloy 20, Hastelloy, titanium) instead.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between PTFE and PFA lined valves?
PTFE has excellent chemical resistance up to about 180°C. PFA is melt-processable, handles up to about 200°C and has better vacuum and permeation resistance, so it is preferred for hot acids.
What is the maximum temperature for a PTFE lined ball valve?
About 180°C for PTFE and 200°C for PFA, but the allowable pressure falls at higher temperature and under vacuum. Confirm the operating combination on the datasheet.
Can PTFE lined valves handle sulphuric and hydrochloric acid?
Yes. PTFE and PFA linings resist sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, chlorine, caustic soda and most solvents across their temperature range.
What is a spark test on a lined valve?
A high-voltage holiday (spark) test is run over the lining to detect pinholes or thin spots before the valve is assembled.
Are PTFE lined valves suitable for slurry?
Generally not. Abrasive solids can wear the lining. Use metal-seated, ceramic or rubber-lined valves for slurry.
What pressure rating do PTFE lined ball valves have?
Typically ASME Class 150 or PN16 at ambient temperature, falling with temperature. For higher pressure acid service, use solid alloy valves.
